MK Electric answers DIY SOS call in aid of Children in Need

MK Electric have helped the BBC's DIY SOS programme take on its biggest project to date by donating much-needed cable management for a worthy renovation project for Children in Need 2011.

The special episode of DIY SOS: The Big Build which due to be broadcast on Friday 11th November 2011 at 9pm on BBC One, sees Nick Knowles and the team renovate a dilapidated youth centre in a deprived part of Liverpool.

The Norris Green Youth Centre is a beacon of hope within the community, committed to offering young people from the area an equal chance to achieve and gain positive life experiences. The staff have done some amazing work, transforming the lives of young people and steering them away from crime. They have at least 50 children and young people attending every evening and they are open 7 days a week.

With the help of the local community, trades and companies including MK Electrical the DIY SOS managed to completely transform the centre in just 10 days which will allow the centre grow its curriculum and engage more young people. A project of this size would normally take up to six months to complete!

MK Electric has donated its cable management solution – Prestige 3D Dado and Skirting – to provide enhanced safety and versatility in this aspect of the build.

Jason Ng, Marketing Communications Specialist for MK Electric, said: β€œTo be involved in the redevelopment of The Norris Green Youth Centre is a real privilege. The centre carries out some fantastic work in Liverpool and the renovation of the centre will undoubtedly help improve even more people's lives in the city. We wish the staff and volunteers of the centre every success in the future."
