MK ELECTRIC EXTENDS CIRCUIT PROTECTION RCD OFFERING

MK Electric has extended its circuit protection portfolio to include a new range of Type A RCDs, perfectly complementing its existing range of Type AC RCDs, designed to help its customers meet the latest wiring regulations.

The introduction of the 18th Edition of the IET wiring regulations specifically highlights the responsibility on the designer to select the appropriate RCD type for each system. MK Electric’s new Type A RCDs offers designers and installers a greater degree of choice to meet the requirements of residential applications.

The new Type A RCDs will detect DC components in fault current, making them suitable for single phase loads, for example, single phase invertors, induction hobs and power supplies for class 2 equipment. They are available in either fully populated consumer units or as loose devices, and can also be integrated into custom solutions via the MK Design Service.

Simon Greenwood, UK&I Sales Director, Electrical Products commented: “The 18th edition of the wiring regulations is a welcome step forward to improve standards of safety across the industry. We know it can be challenging for installers to keep up to date with legislative requirements, and we hope that this new range will help make this process a little easier by presenting customers with a wider variety of products to support regulatory compliance.”
