MK Electric and Smarthomes Join Forces

Jun 01, 2009
MK Electric and Smarthomes have signed an exclusive deal to supply pioneering Smarthomes technologies to Irish electricians via the wholesale network.

As part of the deal MK has also undertaken to up-skill, as many as, 2000 Irish electricians by training them how to install the technologies.  This brings a fantastic business opportunity to the Irish market place, in what will be the major growth area in the home wiring business.

Smarthomes is the leading supplier in Ireland of new home technology cabling and solutions.  Smarthomes design and manufacture innovative cabling solutions for new homes, centrally controlled from one streamlined box.  The range of services covered includes telephones, broadband, computer networking, wall mounted plasmas and LCD screens, home cinema, digital and satellite TV, CCTV, multi-room audio, mood lighting and provision for a home office.

Smarthomes technology is used by many of Ireland’s leading developers including Castlethorn Construction, Maplewood Developments, Pierse, the Hanley Group, Ellier Homes, The Newlyn Group, WD Bolster, Adston, Taggart Homes and the Roche Group. It has recently been specified by developers for the first two phases of the new town at Adamstown in Dublin, which when complete, will include more than 10,000 new homes.

In the coming months MK Electric will be hosting a number of training seminars in locations around the country. Electricians who are interested in registering their interest in the training should clink on the Chevron link.

Initial distribution of the Smarthomes products will be in the Republic of Ireland, with the potential to roll out a similar model to over 50 international markets.
